Wearing Military this Autumn/Winter
During World War II, civilians, even ladies, took to wearing government-issue trench coats as everyday outerwear. And in the Vietnam era, young people in the antiwar movement started wearing camouflage, army jackets, cargo pants as symbols of protest. They became trendsetters in the process. The trench coat was originally an item of clothing for Army officers (developed prior to the war but adapted for use in the trenches of the First World War, hence its name) and shows this influence in it's styling. The traditional colour of a trench coat was khaki, although newer versions come in many colours. Invention of the trench coat is claimed by both Burberry and Aquascutum, with Aquascutum's claim dating back to the 1850s.
The military trend makes any woman look fitted, sophisticated and powerful. Great statement pieces embellished with sailor-style buttons, epaulettes, etc. It's no secret that military fashion as a trend is nothing new, but it is a trend that keeps on updating every year, by offering us new cuts, shapes, fabrics, details and colours.
Simplistic khaki shirt dress and a pair of tan suede heels. This look is affordable and achievable; perfect for everyday wear! Pair a khaki jacket with black ripped jeans and chunky leather boots to get this awesome winter feel. Nothing screams military more than a camouflage coat, paired with androgynous style black joggers and a pair of classic trainers. Change it around and wear camouflage skinny jeans with a black top or jumper! Wear a classic military style khaki jacket with black jeans and metallic print sneakers.
