Sweetheart neckline!

Sweetheart necklines, which are shaped like a heart at the bust line, popped up in the early 1960s. Sweetheart trends were also adopted by early 1960s blouses in pique, wool crepe, and stiff cotton. This neckline throughout the years has continued to add class and sophistication. The low cut design offers more of a graceful appearance, perfect for enhancing those curves. If you have a formal occasion then this is your style, whether its on a dress or a top.

Wedding dresses are renowned for sweetheart necklines. In the 50s it was hidden underneath lace, most dresses were made so they could be worn strapless after the wedding. For inspiration look at some of the most iconic women of our time, who rocked the sweetheart and gave it the class it deserves. Marilyn Monroe, Sophia Loren and Grace Kelly.

Sweetheart necklines are on trend for this Autumn/Winter 2016/17. Dior, Miu Miu, Prada, Kenzo and Balenciaga are just a few of the designers using this neckline in their collections. We suggest layering up, popping a turtle neck or shirt underneath a sweetheart dress, adding a more casual, warmer feel into Winter.
